1860s Tintype Photo Handsome Civil War Sailor Gold HOOP EARRINGS Excellent

  

Original tintype, Civil War Union sailor in full uniform. A star and circle design is visible inside of the collar of his open shirt, the same design, either a patch or pin badge, is on his sleeve. If you look close you can see he is wearing at least one hoop earring in each ear! Tintype is uncased but is in overall excellent antique condition. There is one light bend in the upper-left corner that is not very visible on the front and a very light scratch that I didn't even notice until I uploaded the enlargement.

An excellent image in hand, nicer than my scan. Tintype surface is very clean and smooth. On the back a piece of old paper is stuck, possibly once had his name. Dimensions are 4" x 2.5".
