1/6 Plate Civil War Tintype of Union Lieutenant in Full Thermoplastic Case

  
Offered here is a nice sixth plate (2 3/4" x 3 1/4") Civil War tintype featuring a tough-looking yankee lieutenant. He sits in the photographer's studio with his frock coat unbuttoned and a full row of vest buttons visible underneath. This is a nice image of an officer with the "I've seen it" kind of look. Gold tint was added to the buttons and shoulder straps. Comes housed in a full thermoplastic case that's a little rough around the edges (literally). The velvet cushion appears to be a replacement.
