6th plate Ambrotype with full case although case seam split. These ladies were at the battle of Gettysburg. 6th plate of Mary Elizabeth Wilson (seated), and likely her only sister Matilda Wilson, standing holding a fan. Both ladies hail from Cumberland township, Adams County, PA, Gettysburg PO.

Mary & Matilda are the daughters of James Scott Wilson & Elizabeth Susan Young, In September 1862 Mary Elizabeth married Josiah Wesley Brown son of Jacob and Magdalene Brown of Green Mount PO, Freedom Township, Adams County which appears the straddle the Emmetsburg Road at Gettysburg. Great for the Gettysburg historians familiar with the studio and or these 2 families in relations to the battle.
