Civil War Photo 1/9th Tintype Soldier Armed with Colt Navy Revolver w/ Case Used. Great Civil War Period Photograph. Type: Ferrotype (aka Tintype) with brass mat, preserver and protective glass. Subject: Dashing Young Soldier brandishing what appears to be a Colt 1851 Navy Revolver (see photo to zoom in and check).

His buttons and hat are gilt accented. Case: Brown Thermoplastic, Union Forever (Berg 1-128 Scarce) with Geometric Back (Berg 3-320). Nice Addition to Any Photograph and/or Civil War Collection!

Condition: Very Nice overall condition. Image shows some very light scratching, mat abrasions and dust. Brass preserver has heavy bending. Case is in nice shape showing a couple of small chips on the exterior. Hinges operable and clasp functioning. Interior pad and label intact, label showing some discoloration.
