Antique 19thC Rare Folk Art Acorn Frame Civil War or Earlier Daguerreotype Photo. Offered for sale is wonderful piece of American Folk Art, a circa 1840. S Daguerrotype of a handsome man, framed in a one of a kind oval frame with Hemlock tree acorns. Characteristic of a negative image when viewed from different angles. The photo is early, as is the subject's manner of dress; Civil War period or earlier.

Framed with an embossed copper or brass border, and set into the Acorn frame. The piece is worthy of an heirloom collection. Measures 7" tall, 6 1/2" wide. Condition notation: there is fine crazing to the photo and some missing acorns from the frame, as shown.
