1/6 ambrotype, soldier with painted gold shoulder boards, buckle and buttons, tinted pink cheeks and lips. On the table next to him is his shako with tinted red plume.

I can't quite make out the words on the front or the insignia... Might be a musicians insignia OR a 75? I've provided a closeup, (mirrored scan).

Comes in full case with separated, matching covers. Clear glass ambrotype with painted back glass, behind mat and original glass. Very good antique condition as shown; my scan came out slightly blue tinted, actual color is a shade greener.
