SOLDIER c1864 RUBY AMBROTYPE THERMOPLASTIC FRAME Berg 7-51 (VR). 1/9 plate Civil War infantry Sergeant - c1864 RUBY AMBROTYPE THERMOPLASTIC FRAME Berg 7-51 (VR). This is a circa 1864 ninth-plate glass-covered ruby ambrotype of an unidentified Union infantry sergeant it is cased inside an excellent condition thermoplastic frame: Berg 7-51 [VR] (Flowers), the soldier has tinted pink cheeks and appears to be holding his cap at right lower image please excuse my iPhone's reflection on the glass IN VERY GOOD PLUS condition; the ambrotype appears unaffected by "time" the case is perfect as far as the thermoplastic; reverse side has a diagonal mark or crack at left upper corner, or perhaps this is evidence that a repair that may have been done on the underside of the frame.
