There is a slight stain in the lower right corner of the mat tin type is 5 x 7 which is slightly smaller than an 8 x 10 full plate, but in my eyes, it's still a full plate because of the mat and the marriage of the tintype if you beg to differ with me, go right ahead we could call it a three-quarter plate I guess but I haven't had many of those over the years every piece of cloth worn by this family is Civil War. His tintype was found in the attic of a Syracuse New York home. It is an extremely good condition, it retains its full luster from the day it was made.
