Wonderful rare original circa 1918 WWI panoramic photo by Anderson Photo Co. This 45" x 8" photo features the 353rd Infantry All Kansas Supply Company of the 89th Division (The Rolling W). Photo was taken in front of the All Kansas Building at Camp Funston in Fort Riley, Kansas.
The company was formed Sept. 5th, 1917 under the leadership of commander Col. Reeves and left for overseas deployment in May of 1918 serving as a unit through June of 1919. The photo is self-serving in its provenance. On the far right in white ink it is identified as photo No.
On the verso is a stamp from Anderson Photo Co. Regarding how to order copies by the photo number. The greatest provenance aspect is the hand written verso notes that this was framed for Mrs. Moore who would in all likelihood be the wife or mother of either company soldier Sgt. Moore (distinguished Service Cross recipient) or Corp. The same written note verifies that this photo is still in the original black with gold band frame as described. Just a super original and rare WWI photo. I believe my feedback record says the rest.
