A nice glass ambrotype of a Civil War soldier, 1/6th plate. The soldier is a Union soldier, identified by the previous owner as a Moseley from north central Vermont. He is dressed in his uniform and is holding his military cap in his hands. Case is a hard union case, nicely embossed, separated in the middle spine area where the tape was removed.

Latch closure is present and works. Plate is in very good condition - positive glass image with black glass behind the photo, held in place with a brass matte.
