1/9th plate tintype of Civil War NC militia corporal with cocked Colt pistol

  

Scarce, 1/9th plate tintype of a Civil War date militia corporal holding a Colt pocket pistol with his thumb holding it in a cocked position. Found in Alamance County, NC, the picker told me the family also has the pistol he is holding, but would not sell it. No identification, other than it had been passed down in the family. Housed in a half case of pressed cardboard and leather. Overall size is about 2 1/8 x 2 5/8.
