Civil War Solider Tintype Attributed W Historic New Britain Conneticut Civil War. Fresh to the market civil war historic memorbilia. These were recently uncovered on a picking trip to new britain conneticut. Included is an Attributed cases civil war union dagerrotype or tin type. It is supposedly from a local new britain conneticut veteran George Ripple Hawley and this is written on the back of the tin type though i did not want to remove it again.

Also included is the book that came with the book was made by a local GAR post with the help of the sons of union veterans in the early 1920s. It has every single soldier buried in the local cemeteries who served in the civil war from new britain area and includes those who moved there post war. There are im sure some very historic names and people in this book it also pain stakingly names there rank and the unit they served with some very rare and scarce units mentioned even early marines. Overall this is a historically significant grouping that has never before been on the market i didnt even know how to price it and i feel even now my asking price may be low. As for conditin the tin type case is split at the hing as is common and the image has minor crazing other wise an excellent example. The book is extremely fragile and is flaking on the edges it is an important piece of history that needs to be conserved! Dont miss you chance to own a rare piece of civil war and new britain history.
