Original early-1860s sixth-plate tintype of a young. Civil War Zouave wearing tasseled cap, tinted red.

Pants are also tinted blue. In half of a case that has been hand painted.

Bottom rail is loose but still connected. The tintype seems a shade dark when not viewed in. I've uploaded a couple of cellphone pics. Taken under my desktop lamp, that should give an idea of what it looks like..

Overall very good antique condition. With some light mat abrasions and a couple of light. Bends that I can see on the back, but not on the. The OUTSIDE of the glass has some residue. Looks like hard dried glue, that does not affect.
