VERY RARE CDV 1/8 PLATE UNION CASE & TINTED TINTYPE OF BOY IN CIVIL WAR JACKET. You are considering one of the rarest CDV size or 1/8 plate Union cases with gold medallions on both sides. Housed inside this thermoplastic case is a young boy wearing a typical military style jacket with a very unusual gold chain painted around his neck.

The tablecloth also has wonderful hand tinting applied. The cased image comes complete with the mat, preserver and glass.

Other than a few very minor edge chips and a tiny hairline at the clasp, you are looking at a near mint condition thermoplastic Union case with a wonderful and unusual tintype. The image is crisp, contains excellent contrast, tonal range and super hand tinting.
