1/6 PLATE UNION CASE - CIVIL WAR U. MONITOR W/ RARE EAGLE PILLOW - EX- COND. Here is an excellent original thermoplastic Union case for one of your Civil War tintypes or ambrotypes in your collection. The military motif is of the U. What I find unique and rare about this incredible housing is the pillow with the American Eagle pressed into the red velvet and the exception condition this case still remains.

The label is pristine in the bottom of the compartment and the only flaw I can find is the hairline at the clasp, otherwise this case is as nice as you will find. Good luck to all my fellow collectors of 19th Century photography landing this magnificent case to add one of their favorite CW tintypes or ambrotypes missing a case. The case retains tight hinges, a solid working clasp and the rare patriotic pillow I mentioned in my description.
