Eerie 1860s Civil War Era 1/6 Tintype Photo Post Mortem Woman Smiling

  
Sixth-plate tintype of a deceased woman, laid out on a covered board or mattress that is resting on a chair. The chair is visible on the right when the mat is removed. Under magnification one or both of her eyes appear to be slightly open. Comes in half of its original case, which is worn. The tintype is in excellent condition as far as there are no scratches or bends, there is some solarization / oxidation around the perimeter of the image that gives it a kind of eerie effect.
